How to re-etablish credit after bankrupcy
« on: October 30, 2013, 05:01:19 PM »
in 2009, after losing my job,  got  EI, it  was became impossible six months later to keep up with my  debt,  I  had two installments loan: 9000 and  12000 that i had been paying  very well for more than  5 years   and two majors credit cards with  two big banks: that i had for more than 7 years, i  had tried all the possible avenues not to go this way but  the only choice that was available to me was bankruptcy. the total of debt was  $49.000 and I lost my RRSP through this process.
I filed in 2009 and got  discharged  in mid-2010,   I got a job, I requested  a copy of my file from both credit bureaus : Equifax and transunion , sent them letter to correct a few  info's that  were not accurate, they did and 3 months later , I applied with capital one, I got a  a secure card of  $ 300  limit with capital one  without collateral , in 2011,  they raised my  limit  from $  300 to  $ 2300 which was so  good for me.
In 2012,  I received  a letter from Capital one  that offered me  3000 more that brought my card to 5300   which I was not longing for  that makes me happy anyway.
after 30 months with Capital one, I walked to TD bank and they gave me a secured card of $1000.
I keep saving, I have a RRSP and TFSA, any advice that you could give to help me  Re-establish faster will be much appreciated.

Thanks
