Home Depot or Lowes - Credit
« on: May 10, 2017, 09:00:30 PM »
Hi Team,

The wife and I need new appliances - a couple have broke and we can't use them anymore so we have to buy new ones. We have been done our Proposal for 2 years now and don't have money saved up for this purchase

I was thinking of buying from Home Depot or Lowes because I can get 12 months no interest/no payments.

I'm just wondering what experience anyone has with getting an approval from either of these two vendors. I don't want to try and apply if i'm going to be denied.

Thanks

I haven't tried those 2 vendors, but you are in essence applying for their credit card.  In fact, they will probably give you a credit card for the amount of your purchase.  Once you finish paying off the purchase, you still keep the credit card.  This is what Best Buy, the Bay and Canadian Tire do.

What is your credit rating?

I believe Home Dept pulls your Equifax score.....not sure about Lowes.

I would phone both before applying.....you do not want your credit score to take a hit.

Does Canadian Tire carry what you need?  Call them also.

If you're strapped for cash I'd just buy one from the local Facebook buy and sell for a couple of hundred bucks.
