Discharge certificate
« on: August 03, 2009, 08:42:33 AM »
I filed for bankruptcy in August of 2007, after the 9 months were up, i received notice that i would have to remain in bankruptcy for another year, and the trustee was recommending a discharge when that year was up.  It was up at the end of June 2009.   Thing is, i owe the equivalent of 2 payments, as my circumstances had changed and could not commence the payments until 2 months after the year had started.  However, I was also told by the trustee, that when i got my divorce, they would recoup the money from my share of the marital home, and i would get an automatic discharge.   I was in court for my divorce on June 17, 2009, the bankruptcy trustee was there, so he knew what was going on.   I have yet to receive my discharge certificate, what would you figure would be the hold up?   i have not received any further correspondence from the trustee if there were any problems.  thanks.

When I filed for Bankruptcy, my intial discharge date was Oct 10/09. I completed my 2 sessions and sent my budget report and payments on time for the last 7 months. 2 more payments to go. My question is.... will i find out before Oct 10 that I will be discharged or will it be sometime after that. One other thing. Before Bankruptcy I have always had outstanding credit, the recent economic downturn resulting in jobs losses, relocating, buying another house, and another job lost is basically what turned my life upside down the last 2 years resulting in the position I am today. How big do circumstanecs play when trying to rebuild credit. Is everyone treated differently or is the process the same for everyone no matter what got you into the mess in the first place?
